WAAPA’s Arts and Cultural Management graduates are versatile employees who are industry ready for exciting and challenging careers in the arts and creative industries.

The three year, full-time Bachelor of Arts (Arts and Cultural Management) degree provides practical skills for the arts. Students study all aspects of arts management, from communications, marketing, law, finance, project management and production to arts criticism, cultural policy, leadership and entrepreneurship, within diverse arts and cultural contexts.

Regular engagement with industry professionals offers intensive learning and networking opportunities, while internships in local, national and international arts companies provide real-world experience. WAAPA’s strong links with the arts industry allows final-year students to undertake 10-week internships as part of their coursework.

Graduates possess management and human resources skills, business acumen, the ability to communicate in a professional environment and to work effectively in teams, critical appraisal skills, a cross-cultural and international outlook, and a broad knowledge of the arts and creative industries.

The course has a strong track record of successful employment outcomes for its graduates, who can be found in positions of leadership at prestigious arts and cultural organisations throughout the world. In addition, the business skills developed in the course are transferrable to many other industries such as public relations, marketing, travel, social enterprise, film, television and broadcasting, to name a few.
