Studying at WAAPA

WAAPA student facilities and services operate within Edith Cowan University at the Mount Lawley Campus. Successful applicants have full access to client support services including accommodation, welfare, guidance and appeals services of Edith Cowan University.

Orientation

Orientation is an opportunity for all successful applicants to organise themselves with the workings of WAAPA and meet staff and fellow students. In February, students participate in two weeks of events and student focused workshops organised by academic departments and student services. During this time students must enrol in the appropriate units through the Edith Cowan University admissions system to commence study. Please visit the ECU Orientation web page for more information.

Student information management online

All enrolled students have access to the ECU Student Portal which provides a centralised gateway to information on enrolment, exams results and appeals, important dates, fee information and invoices and a raft of other things to make studying at ECU easier. With this information being online and at the tips of your fingers, all enrolled students can access the information any time of the day or night.

You will need you ADS username and password to log on to the Student Portal where you will find a link to SIMO and other student specific applications.

Support services

WAAPA students have access to a range of formal and informal support services available through the University's student portal which provides assistance including:

  • IT systems;
  • student library;
  • managing your studies;
  • study support;
  • counselling;
  • language, literacy and numeracy programs;
  • disability support;
  • courses careers and jobs;
  • fees and financial help, and
  • rules, forms and feedback.

All this information is located on the Student Life website. Students who require additional support can approach WAAPA department staff, their lecturer, student-staff meetings.
