Overview

WAAPA is very grateful for the generous support of our sponsors, community partners, philanthropic donors and for the hard work of the Friends of The Academy.

All of the amazing productions you see at WAAPA are entirely self-funded, so the need for corporate sponsorship is great. Likewise our visiting artists program, which brings professional choreographers, technicians, artists and directors to the Academy to work with our students, is an essential part of the WAAPA experience and very beneficial to their education.

The Friends of The Academy fundraise throughout the year with cash being distributed through a student grant system, assisting with travel expenses associated with special activities such as the annual Showcase tour and LINK Dance Company’s European Tour. The Friends also assist with the purchasing of new equipment. Our corporate partners support through in-kind and cash sponsorship helps underwrite the costs associated with the Academy’s annual repertoire of productions and along with philanthropic donations from members of the public, funds the selection of prizes and scholarships awarded to outstanding WAAPA students every year.

Community partnerships with various metropolitan and regional councils enable us to tour productions and concerts off campus, increasing our community engagement and giving our students a wealth of performance opportunities. It also helps promote the WAAPA brand to the greater community.
