Arts Management Silver Anniversary

Monday, 30 November 2009

The Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts' Arts Management Degree course, celebrates 25 years of world-class training and hundreds of graduates. WAAPA celebrates this achievement with the presentation of a professional conference on international arts management practice and the launch of a WAAPA International Arts Management Alumni.

The Arts Management Degree course is just one of the institution’s internationally recognised training choices. Providing approximately twenty places annually, the course boasts over 400 graduates over the past 25 years. They now work across the cultural industries around the world, many leaders in their field. The employment record of these Academy graduates, in extremely competitive fields including film, theatre, radio, music and television, continues to be outstanding and well attuned to the needs of the industry.

In 2010, WAAPA’s Arts Management Degree course celebrates its 25th anniversary. This significant milestone will be celebrated in two parts. The first is a unique professional development conference focusing on international best practice in the arts. There will be a panel discussion from all guest speakers as well as opportunities for informal networking and formal question and answer sessions.

Keynote speakers include:

  • Mindy Coppin (Senior Vice President, Director (Asia), IMG Artists - Singapore)
  • Rikki Lee Bestall (Co-producer of the film The Soloist)
  • Chiaki Nemoto (Financial Management, Young Associates - Toronto)
  • Ali Heppenstall (Director, b2b -London)
  • Damien Hewitt (Ambassador Theatre Group -London)
