Accompanist and coach par excellence Dr Graham Johnson returns to the WAAPA International Art Song Academy 2017 to lead a week of master classes on the songs of Hugo Wolf and Franz Schubert. The Academy commences on Tuesday, 11 July and culminates in a Gala Concert at Perth’s Government House Ballroom on Sunday, 16 July.
“I learnt more about Schubert in 30 minutes of Graham Johnson talking about the great composer than I have in the previous 30 years. Passionate and witty, he guided us on a journey through the world of Lieder, encouraging and sharing his passion for Schubert’s songs with some of Australia’s best young singers … this was world standard.”
- Guy Noble, conductor and broadcaster
