 In 2005 WAAPA is celebrating 25 years as an elite, specialist performing arts institution. To ensure our invaluable contribution to the Arts for the next 25 years and beyond we have launched a major fundraising campaign. One aspect of this is 'Name Your Seat' where alumni, proud WAAPA supporters, staff, students and their families can make an invaluable contribution to the Academy and at the same time commemorate their association or the association of a loved one with WAAPA by having a 'naming plaque' placed on a seat in the main theatre, new theatre or music theatre. Over the next two years it is our aim to raise over $200,000 from this campaign, with funds raised going towards the Annual Showcase tour, equipment and instrument purchases, workshop and artist in residency programs for students, and regional and international student tours.
