Louise is the Props Assistant and sessional Lecturer at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts props department.

Background

Currently Props Assistant at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, Louise has been employed as both professional/technical staff and as a sessional lecturer at the Academy since 2001. Louise has also established a freelance career within the West Australian entertainment industry, specialising in prop construction, costume prop construction and scenic painting. Louise commenced part-time studies in 2015 and is currently 2 units away from achieving a Bachelor of Performing Arts/Visual Arts. Most recently in her studies Louise completed units VIS 3550 Project Research and Development and VIS 2454 Artist Books: Materiality of Word and Image. In 2019 Louise exhibited Silkscreen printed works at Gallery Central in the Between the Sheets: Artist Books Exhibition and also in China at the Guanlan International Print Biennial. Most recently Louise constructed leather costume props for the West Australian Opera production of Macbeth.

  • Cert IV in Assessment and Workplace Training, TAFE WA.
