WAAPA’s three year, full-time Bachelor of Arts (Acting) degree is an intensive conservatoire program that produces graduates who are thoroughly prepared for a career in a wide variety of media, including theatre, television, film and radio, both in Australia and internationally.

WAAPA provides a performance-based learning environment in which students are encouraged to develop holistically as an actor, possessing a passion for theatre and a desire to contribute meaningfully to the evolution of the art form, and to the wider community.

Students receive training in acting techniques for theatre and screen, improvisation, movement, voice production, self-devised works, history of performance, business skills and audition techniques.

Students gain an appreciation of the complete theatrical production process through collaborations with their WAAPA peers from other disciplines, such as Production and Design, on full-scale productions.

In addition to daily tuition from WAAPA’s highly acclaimed staff, students have opportunities to work with guest directors and leading industry practitioners to facilitate the transition from student to professional life.

WAAPA’s Acting degree course has an international reputation for excellence, built on the success of its graduates.

WAAPA also offers a one year, full-time Diploma of Acting course that prepares students with a range of knowledge and skills to enter the performing arts industry as an actor for roles in theatre productions, or to pursue further education at a higher level.
