Applications are now open for the inaugural Tura New Music PhD Scholarship - Audiences for art music and sound art in Western Australia: understanding and evaluating Tura New Music programs. This is a PhD project where the candidate will work with WAAPA and Tura New Music. In addition to a $27,000 PA tax free scholarship, the student will have access research support funds to cover items such as travel and other needs.
This project will gather qualitative and quantitative data on audience response to and engagement with music programs in metropolitan and regional Western Australia. The aim is to better understand the impact of current program delivery upon audiences, providing information that assists Tura in its development of new programs and marketing. The candidate will engage information and communication technologies to assist Tura to develop digital strategies for program delivery. The outcome will be up to date, meaningful data that can be used by Western Australian performing arts organisations into the future.
