In an exciting first for the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, the 2018 Acting Graduate Showcase will be performed in Los Angeles in December this year.

In recent years the WAAPA Acting graduates have been attracting great interest from US management, agents and casting directors. Many of our alumni are currently working there on feature films and TV series.

WAAPA has produced many notable actors who have gained major international interest including Hugh Jackman, Frances O’Connor, Dominic Purcell, Jai Courtney, Harry Richardson, Robert Taylor, Elisabeth Blackmore, James Mackay, Andrew Creer, Shalom Brune-Franklin and Dacre Montgomery.

It is this interest that has prompted our reconnaissance mission to the US. Whilst in LA, the student graduates will be meeting with industry heavyweights, participating in acting workshops and screen testing for casting directors.

The WAAPA Acting Showcase will be performed at the Matrix Theatre, 7657 Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles on Wednesday, 5 December at 1.00pm and 6.00pm.

The third year acting graduates will be accompanied by WAAPA Associate Dean of Performance Andrew Lewis.

To find out more about WAAPA's range of courses come to the ECU Mount Lawley & WAAPA Open Day on Sunday, 12 August, 10.00am - 3.00pm.
