Hamilton announces ‘exceptionally talented and diverse’ cast for Australia production

Newcomer and 2016 WAAPA Music Theatre graduate, Jason Arrow picked by Lin-Manuel Miranda to star, leading a cast made up almost exclusively of people of colour from Australia and New Zealand.

Joining Jason is fellow MT, Lyndon Watts (West Side Story, Sweet Charity, Singin’ in the Rain), who will play Aaron Burr.

Aboriginal Performance graduate, Innawonga actor Shaka Cook, who played Jasper Jones in Queensland Theatre Company’s 2014 production of the same name and Wangarra in the Sydney Theatre Company’s the Secret River, will be playing Hercules Mulligan and James Madison. Fellow Aboriginal Performance and Diploma of Acting graduate, Tainga Savage, is joining the Ensemble.

Acting graduate, Brent Hill who is currently at WAAPA directing the 3rd Year Music Theatre students in Sondheim's 'Merrily We Roll Along', has been cast as King George.
