Ecstatic Beethoven

Performed by: Tom Beghin

This recital celebrates the arrival of WAAPA’s replica 1819 Conrad Graf piano, the type of instrument used by Beethoven and Schubert, made by the renowned European master-maker Paul McNulty. Beethoven’s last three piano sonatas are performed by one of the great artists of our time, the Belgian virtuoso fortepianist Tom Beghin. Beethoven’s final thoughts in the realm of the piano sonata are universally regarded as pinnacles in the repertoire. Hear these transcendental masterpieces performed on a piano from Beethoven’s Vienna — heart, mind and spirit stirred by the rarest of musical experiences.
