Dance Research Centre

"...dance is traditionally a collaborative venture that is the choreographer, designer and composer working with the dancers"

Believing dance itself to be a form of embodied knowledge, the Dance Research Centre takes an inter-disciplinary approach to the investigation of  choreography, pedagogy and aiming to give voice to an endeavour traditionally associated with ‘the non-verbal body’.

Research strengths and foci include;

  • Practice-based and applied investigations in choreography, pedagogy and performance.
  • Safe and effective dance practices for performance enhancement and injury prevention.
  • Assessments of higher degrees in dance.
