How to get into WAAPA

The Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts offers a wide range of courses – from Vocational Education and Training (VET) Certificates and Advanced Diplomas funded by the WA Department of Education and Training – through to  Bachelor, Masters and Doctoral degrees.

Admission to all of these courses is by audition and/or interview. Admission to the Bachelor programs at WAAPA also requires completion of entrance requirements for ECU.

If you don’t meet University admission requirements you should discuss your options with staff at WAAPA.

Applications to WAAPA courses open in July to September the year prior to course commencement. Application kits are updated each July.

We leave information packs for the previous year on the WAAPA website to give potential applicants an idea of the audition process.

International students

We welcome international students to WAAPA and encourage you to apply for any of our Bachelor, Masters or Doctoral degree courses.

Please visit our Courses & Admissions web page to browse our courses. You can then apply for a course through International Admissions.

Unfortunately,VET courses are unable to accept international applications at this stage.
