Vinnie is the Coordinator of the Music Artist Stream at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts.

Background.

A well-known and respected musician and educator, Vinnie Crea brings a wealth of experience having drummed with many of Australia’s most successful artists including Ross Wilson, Jon English, Angry Anderson, Mark Gable, Nathan Caveleri, Debra Conway, Marc Hunter, Doc Neeson, Swanee, Mark Williams, Eric Wiedeman and many others.

On the local scene he has performed with a plethora of WA acts including The Elks, The Night after, Steel Rex, Giftbox, Ruby’s Groove, Harlow, Decoy, The Doodaddies and Damien Cripps . Earlier this year the 2018 ‘New Jersey Nights’ Australian tour featured an all Australian live band with Vinnie as the Drummer and Band leader.

As well as having taught, mentored and inspired many of WA’s top Drummers, he has written educational articles for Drumscene magazine and is a committed member and advocate of the Australian drumming community.

Vinnie is passionate about the Music Artist course and leads a highly skilled team of dedicated lecturers, all sharing his passion and vision. The Music Artist students are taught, guided and mentored to achieve high creative performance standards.

Vinnie’s love of Music, teaching and performance can be witnessed, not only at his own gigs but also, through the performance presentations of his students.
