WAAPA comes to the South West

Calling all aspiring musicians, actors and music theatre performers in the South West! It’s your time to shine as expert staff from the highly acclaimed Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) run five performing arts workshops in Busselton this May-June. In addition, WAAPA’s talented students will entertain you in three magical music concerts in Busselton and Albany. WORKSHOPS:

Creating Physical Theatre
This workshop is all about exploration, creativity, and play – perfect for actors/teachers/directors and senior drama students (from 14 years) who want to explore physical theatre.

WAAPA Harmonies: Vocal WorkshopWhether you’re a complete beginner or simply love to sing, this session is designed for everyone – no experience needed. Learn practical vocal techniques, build confidence, and connect with others through the joy of music.

WAAPA Harmonies: Gospel Sundowner The WAAPA Gospel Choir delivers an uplifting blend of soul, spirit, and soaring harmonies in this joyous program of contemporary and traditional gospel music.

Imagine Songwriting Concert Proudly supported by the City of Albany as part of the Albany 2026 program, this concert brings together WAAPA’s talented music students from Perth and Albany with members of the Imagine Songwriting community to perform original music inspired by the stories and history of Albany. This concert is the culmination of WAAPA’s three-day Imagine Songwriting workshop that gives aspiring songwriters in the Albany area the opportunity to collaborate with professional artists and have their songs performed by WAAPA bands in a world-class venue.
