Through the diverse range of processes and products, artistic investigations question the human condition and draw attention to the various ways in which knowledge is experienced, conceived and conveyed.
Believing dance itself to be a form of embodied knowledge, the DRC takes creative arts practice through choreography, pedagogy and performance as its particular focus of investigation, and aims to give voice to an endeavour traditionally associated with 'the non-verbal body'.
The MRG is a group of music researchers based at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts at Edith Cowan University. The artistic application and interrogation of sound in its multiple manifestations across time are principal concerns of this practice-led group of researchers.
TINAS is a weekly interdisciplinary creative research forum that is intricately bound up in explorations of practice-led research, for which WAAPA has positioned itself as a leading Australian centre.
CREAtec’s mission statement is to facilitate and enable researchers to share, develop and increase their research outputs in line with ECU’s Strategic Plan for Research (2017–2021) and research themes. The focus is collaborative research through themed research groups inclusive of the School of Arts and Humanities, WAAPA and the School of Education.
