Background
Brodie Stewart is a Perth-based pianist, keyboardist, composer, orchestrator, musical director, and audio engineer. Recognised for his versatility across jazz and contemporary music, he has become a sought-after collaborator for artists and productions throughout Australia.
In 2020, Brodie toured nationally with Human Nature and has since performed with Kav Temperley (Eskimo Joe), Katy Steele (Little Birdy), Reigan Derry with Ministry of Sound, Conrad Sewell, and Tania Doko. His extensive list of collaborations also includes Tim Minchin, Melonie Daniels, Fatai, Prinnie Stevens, Normie Rowe, Vince Jones, Troy Roberts, Perth Symphony Orchestra, and Dr. Jonathon Welch. He has shared the stage with artists including Dami Im, James Reyne, Mark Seymour, John Paul Young, and Nathaniel, and has also worked with Claudio, Savage, Bloom, and Seventh Wonder.
As a composer and arranger, Brodie draws inspiration from jazz, classical, R&B, folk, and pop. His music has been performed across Australia, the United States, and Europe. As an orchestrator, he has created large-scale arrangements for orchestras and contemporary live productions, including Seventh Wonder Performs Fleetwood Mac, performed at the Sydney Opera House, with orchestrations for a 30-piece orchestra.
Awarded the Channel 7 Award for Jazz, Brodie holds First Class Honours in Jazz Performance from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), where he is now a lecturer in Contemporary Music.
Alongside his performance career, Brodie is an experienced musical director, arranger, and programmer with expertise in keyboard rigs, synthesizers, sound design, and live production technology. He is equally at home performing on piano, keyboards, electric bass, and key bass.
Outside of performing and teaching, Brodie works as a mixing and mastering engineer from his Perth studio, bringing a musician's perspective, technical precision, and meticulous attention to detail to every project.
