Craig is a Lecturer in Music Theatre at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts.
Craig is a pianist, conductor and music educator specialising in the area of Music Theatre. He holds Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Music degrees from the University of Western Australia, and Master of Music (Orchestral Conducting) from the College-Conservatory of Music of the University of Cincinnati, USA.
As a freelance conductor and keyboard player, Craig toured with productions of The Phantom of the Opera, Mary Poppins and Les Misérables, playing seasons in Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Taipei, Auckland, Manila, Singapore, Guangzhou and Beijing. Other first-class Australian productions include Wicked, Legally Blonde, Jersey Boys and The Sound of Music. Craig has served as a repetiteur for Opera Australia (South Pacific) and Victorian Opera (Sunday in the Park with George), and performs regularly with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra and Perth Symphony Orchestra.
Craig has been a full-time staff member at WAAPA since 2017, and has served as musical director for productions of Bloody, Bloody Andrew Jackson, In the Heights, Rock of Ages, Company, and Sweet Charity.
In 2019, he was awarded a Learning and Teaching Grant to investigate the use of live-stream video technology in the group keyboard classroom at WAAPA.
