Chris is a Lecturer in Arts and Cultural Management, Course Coordinator for the Bachelor of Performing Arts (Production and Design), and the WAAPA Academic Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Coordinator

Background

Chris is a visual storyteller and intercultural facilitator with extensive experience working in the not-for-profit arts sector.

She has worked extensively with First Nations Australians as the founding CEO of the Aboriginal Art Centre Hub of WA (AACHWA), and in strategic and organisational capacity building roles at the Perth Institute of Contemporary Art (PICA) and the Chamber of Arts and Culture WA. She has also worked in land management and economic development roles with the National Native Title Tribunal and the Central Land Council.

Chris completed her PhD in 2020 at Queensland University of Technology facilitating co-created media and artworks with South-African township residents who use repurposed waste materials and traditional building techniques to create low-cost, climate appropriate housing.

Chris is actively developing a research profile in cultural policy, regional arts development, and inclusive arts education.
