Where do the workshops take place?

At the ECU campus in Mount Lawley, 2 Bradford Street, Mt Lawley.

Please bring your water bottle, a notepad and pen, sunscreen, hat and your snacks.

What do I need to wear?

Wear comfortable clothes that you can easily move in, t-shirt, shorts, comfortable pants or leggings. Dresses and tight skirts are not appropriate as they can inhibit your movement.

Do I need any experience? What if I have never done any drama or music theatre before?

Our staff cater for students of most abilities and experience, our courses encourage participants to challenge themselves to achieve their personal goals, they are scaffolded with the skills necessary to reach their goals.
Contact the co-ordinator if you have needs you would like considered.

I won’t know anyone and everyone else will – what if I’m lonely?

Many students come on their own and don’t know anyone else. We have students come from all over Australian, New Zealand and Asia who have never been to Perth before.

We do lots of games and exercises to help students learn each other’s names and form new friendships with each other.

What if I don’t like the first day?

The first day can be overwhelming with a new environment, people and content. Usually the second day is much better and you will find that by the final day you don’t want to leave.

If the second day isn’t any better, you can talk to your teacher or assistant teacher and tell them how you feel – they are there to help you have the best time.

How many students will be in my class?

We generally have between 18 and 25 students in a class. We have a senior teacher and an assistant teacher for each class.

Who will look after me at lunch and recess?

You will be supervised by all our wonderful assistant teachers. On your break you can sit on the grass under the trees or in the foyer if it’s too hot. If the Grindhouse Café is open you can sit in there.
