The Laramie Project

Developed by: Moises Kaufman and Members of the Tectonic Theatre Project
Performed by: 2nd Year Acting students

In 1998 Matthew Shepard was crucified on a fence in the small town of Laramie, Wyoming. In the aftermath of this appalling hate crime, Moises Kaufman and the New York-based Tectonic Theatre Project made six trips to Laramie over 18 months to interview the town's residents. Crafted into a play, this remarkable piece of verbatim theatre tells a very human story of prejudice, hatred, hope and mercy. The Laramie Project is a deeply moving theatrical experience that explores the depths to which humanity can sink and the heights of compassion of which we are capable.

By arrangement with Music Theatre International Australasia, exclusive agent for Dramatists Play Service, Inc.
