Set and Costume Design

Go behind-the-scenes, plus see and hear more from our students on our ECU YouTube channel.

The Design program at WAAPA prepares students to create compelling visual worlds for theatre and film. Through training in visualisation, research and design processes, students tackle challenging projects across sets, props and costumes before applying their ideas on WAAPA productions and professional placements. Classes in drawing, technical drawing and computer‑aided design build the skills needed to translate creative concepts into realised designs.

Working with industry directors and choreographers on WAAPA performances, you’ll develop practical experience in set and costume design roles on live productions, ready for a design-related career in the entertainment industry.
